Petaluma's Lost Communities - Cedar Grove Park

Casa Grande Teachers Paula Biancalana and Jolene Thinnes are guiding their students through the historical transformation of Petaluma and its Watershed from 1850 to the present. Below is one of their students' first blog posts on this exciting subject.

Cedar Grove Park: Cedar Grove Park is located in Petaluma just off Lakeville Street. The property is approximately 8.9 acres and is presently for sale.

The city would like to knock down the buildings that are on the property to get ready for the building of the SMART train. The property is listed at $10,000,000 for those interested in pursuing the land. Adolph J. Bloom first owned the property and then Henry and Wilhelmina (Starke) Dahlmann purchased the land later. Cedar Grove Park was an amusement park in the early 1900’s for visitors who came up the Petaluma River during the summer.
